Question: Those OVER 21 ONLY: What book changed your life most significantly!?
I'd just like answers from those who've had more time to read and reflect (thus the age request)!. That and if someone says Twilight or Harry Potter, I may shoot myself!. :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Probably "The Savage Detectives", by Roberto Bola?o or "Herzog" by Saul Bellow!. They're the kind of books that don't pretend to offer answers, only more questions - but the questions are a beautiful chaos!. These books were very important in informing my philosophical outlook on life!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've actually been working my way through a set of books from every religion!.!.!.already had the Bible down, but read through the Rig Veda, most of the Dhammapada, and I've started on the Quran (although that has been almost as big a challenge as the Bible!.)

I had my own opinions of religion before I read any of them, but my views on spirituality have changed vastly, particularly after studying Hinduism and Buddhist thoughts!.

*Ohh, to the guy above me, yes! Herman Hesse!.!.!.I should add his books to my list!Www@QuestionHome@Com

This is going to sound funny but "Little Women" changed my life significantly!. It really made me reflect on how I should treat people and focus on myself to become a better person!. All of the characters were so selfless and sweet and I could only wish to be a little like that in my own life!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I knew I was going to see "The Bible," at least once in these answers!.

For me it was Childhood's End by Arthur C!. Clarke!. Today I'm old enough to know it's crap (it really is a lousy book), but when I was a kid, it was probably what got me into reading more ACC and then, eventually, everything I can get my hands on!.

The Bible, though!? Nobody has actually read it from front to finish so give me a break!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Siddhartha by Herman Hesse!. I will continue to read this book at various points in my life and always find new meaning in it!. It's basically a story of a life!.

In fact, I think you just reminded me to read it again!. =)Www@QuestionHome@Com
