Have you read Wuthering Heights!? That was a great book! You could also try A Handmaid's Tale- It's basically about this Utopia where not all women can have children, it has it's moments where it gets 'awkward' but only for 1 or 2 chapters!. It's a great book, very moving!. The Twilight Saga is addictive too! Even though it's aimed at young adults, it attracts all ages!. If you don't know already, it's about a vampire/human romance and it gets very addictive!. Anyway, enjoy your city break, and I hope I helped! =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Which city!? I like to read something set where I am going!.

Failing that, you should check out "Of Mice and Men" by John Steinbeck, "The Red Badge of Courage" by Stephen Crane and "Heart of Darkness" by Joseph Conrad!.
As a wild card read "Three men in a Boat" by Jerome K Jerome, great book with more humour about it!.
Enjoy, Steve!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In looking at the types of books you like, I would recommend to you:
The Secret Life of Bees by Sue Monk Kidd
The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Neffinegger
The Alchemist by Paul Cohelo
Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert
Remembering Blue by Barbara Kingsolver

All of the above are simply sublime! Happy reading!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A few classics that don't take too long to read:

1984 - Orwell
Animal Farm - Orwell
Clockwork Orange - Burgess

And if you want something a bit different, try a Paul Auster book!. The New York Trilogy might be a good place to start!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Just finished an amazing book
"The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak!.
It is fantastic!. Definitely worth a read!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Along the lines of 1984: Fahrenheit 451!. Loved it much more than 1984, though both are very good! I'll also have to recommend Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, as well as all of her other novels!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

"Pop goes the weasel" by James Patterson!.
