I think Dumbledore was hoping that his death in a years time would be the cause of Snape's departure!. He knew that the DADA post was cursed and he wanted to plan it in such a way that Snape wasn't harmed/killed from the DADA curse!.

He had no one else who would fill the post!. He was barely able to find someone to teach Potions!. It would have been impossible to find someone for Defense Against The Dark Arts!.

Why couldn't he have asked McGonagall or Flitwick or anybody but Snape really!? That wouldn't have fit in as well with the story!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well!.!.!.!.Dumbledore had already planned his murder by Snape -- and what would Snape do after he killed the Headmaster, stay!? Snape was already destined to leave the school, and, additionally, Dumbledore understood Snape's extensive knowledge of the Dark Arts that could/should be spread!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

because there was no one else to take the job, remember back in Harrys second year, Hagrid had said that no one wanted the job!? and when snape got the job, it was four years later, so you can imagine how hard it was to find someone!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

coz he knew he was gonna die soon!.then voldy wouldnt need a spy in hogwarts!. so snape was gonna have to leave his post either wayWww@QuestionHome@Com

hmmm good question, maybe Snape only wanted to teach one more year, so they plotted it all out!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

because he's a douchebag!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
