Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen
The Truth About Forever by Sarah Dessen
(Dessen's characters are all extremely realistic and her writing's simple, but definitely enjoyable)

The Georgia Nicolson series by Louise Rennison (Very funny)

Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist by David Levithan and Rachel CohnWww@QuestionHome@Com

Not exactly what you're asking for, but David Levithan's 'Boy Meets Boy' is lovely!. It's told by a male narrator, and fits with 'light' and 'refreshing', for sure!. There a few embarrassingly funny bits (big laughs; cue funny looks from strangers if you read it in public), and a scene that everyone cries at, even me with my steel heart :) It's not overtly 'gay' -- my copy got passed around eight straight female friends, all of whom loved it -- it's just a really nice romance for when you get sick of reading the same love story over and over with different covers!. And let's face it, most teen romance books are pretty generic!. This one isn't plus, you can get a used copy on Amazon for peanuts right now :)
Go on, try it!. Best book I read in years!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The twilight series by stephanie meyer! but if u are a guy, i dont reccomend it, they keep describing how lovely the guy is!. its a horror/ romance, where an 18 year old girl has to move to this boring town, and just when she thinks her life is totally miserable, shes almost killed but is saved by this very mysterious boy!. she then finds out hes not exactly !.!.!.human!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

forever by judy blume is really good!. it's basically about this couple who met at a party!. and it's really there first love!. it takes you through all the ups and downs of this relationship!.!.!.

hopes this helps

Check out all the books by Julie Garwood!.

http://www!.juliegarwood!.com

She has a lot of historical romance books and then some more modern ones!. I haven't read any of her modern ones yet!.
http://www!.juliegarwood!.com/books/bookli!.!.!. this list tells what time period deals with which books!.

My favorite is "The Gift"!. It's about two feuding families who's son and daughter have been betrothed since birth!. When the daughter reaches of age, she runs away to meet her betrothed, who also appears at the same time to claim her!. Both against their separate family's wishes!. The girl, Sara, is a gorgeous, caring, gentle, silly girl who believes in doing everything right and just!. The boy, Nathan, is a brute, strong, sometimes harsh sailor who is actually a pirate in his secret life!. Even though they are so different, they strive to seal their marriage in order to unite their families once-and-for-all!. From the very beginning, the humor will knock you on your butt and have you laughing out loud in public, as Nathan and Sara but heads as the most unlikely couple!. Eventually, they learn that they are actually madly in love with each other and not just doing the right thing!. The book takes so many unexpected turns that it will always keep you entertained, and the detailed romance isnt bad either!. ;)

The book was so good that even my boyfriend was begging me to read it aloud to him each night!. It had both of us rolling with laughter and we were actually sad when the book was finished!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
