I'm starting on my summer reading list (senior year in hs) and one of the texts on my list is Merchant of Venice (by William Shakespeare)!. My professor suggested that I watch the movie before reading the book (because "Shakespeare's work is meant to be acted, not read!.")!.
So I am wondering which movie out there is the closest thing to the book!. Note that I am not asking for "the best made movie"!. I just need the movie that has the most similarities to the original text!.
Help will be much appreciated!.
