He may enjoy Jasper Fforde's Thursday Next novels: The Eyre Affair, Lost in a Good Book, The Well of Lost Plots, Something Rotten and First Among Sequels!. This series is a lot of fun and quite unique!. In it Thursday Next is a literary special ops detective who has to follow up leads on strange literature goings-on!. In this series it is possible for "real" people to jump into the book world and travel among various works of fiction, there is a villain who kidnaps fictional characters right out of books, if an original manuscript is changed then every book in existence is forever altered and much more!. It was great!.

Jasper Fforde also wrote two books in his Nursery Crimes series: The Big Over Easy and The Fourth Bear!. In the first book, Humpty Dumpty has been found shattered to death, and Detective Inspector Jack Spratt and his assistant, Mary Mary, have to solve the crime!. They need to do a good job, because their last case was a disaster: they failed to convict the Three Pigs of murdering Mr!. Wolff!. I didn't think these were quite as good as his Thursday Next books, but they are still very good!.

I hope this helps!. It's a wonderful thing you are doing!Www@QuestionHome@Com

try Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer, and Everything Is Illuminated by him as well!.

The 1st is about a boy whose father died in the World Trade Center, and he finds this key that he thinks his father left that links to something, the kid is a really quirky kid and meets many weird people along the way!. Its an amazing book!.

The 2nd is about a Jewish man who is searching for a woman who helped his grandfather during the Holocaust!.

Both books have really weird people and are really hilarious while being down to earth and pulling at your heart strings!. I think he'll like it for the witty dialogue and strange writing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
