Erick--I like the spelling but the name is too common!. 6!. Pearl--It seems like a normal name for an underwater creature!. Maybe some other gem!? Opal!? Ruby!? Sapphire!? 7!. Look at the meanings of these - and more important, perhaps, the culture of origin - and see for yourself!. If I were going to write a story about mer-gods, they would have names aligned with whatever culture they resembled!. For example, "Greek" or Atlantean mer-gods would have Greek names, "Norse" mer-gods, Nordic names, etc!. I would want to keep their names in line with whatever culture's gods they were supposed to be!. Really, you could use any name in a work of fantasy!. you dont have to come up with a weird name! Like, the name David could be used along side Sarai or Paul could be used with Leilani!.
