Not bad!.!.!.you could slightly rephrase it as:
"Nineteen-year-old Paul Baumer and several classmates join the German Army in WWI, only to find that war is not as glorious or honorable as they had been led to believe!."

It was people like Kantorek who pushed the "glory of war" ideas into their heads!. They weren't given the whole story (that war is horrible), and therefore had to find out for themselves!. Keep the major theme in mind--the horrors of war and their effect on the average soldier--and you'll be right on track!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
