Question: Can anyone help me with the name!.!.!.!?

of this children's story!? I don't remember too much, but it's about a love story between a bird that's either a swallow or a sparrow and a statue!.

I can't remember what country it's set in, but I think it might have been England!.!.!.the little bird fails to migrate during the harsh winter months to stay with the lonely statue!.!.!.

It's such a beautiful story and a sad one!. Does anyone know the name of this book!?

Sounds a little bit like Oscar Wilde, The Happy Prince, but I could be completely wrong!. There's a swallow and a statue, that much is the same, they talk about Egypt but I'm not certain where it's set!. It's a really beautiful sad story so it could be the one!.
