Question: Could someone suggest some NON-CLASSIC fiction books!?
I like stuff such as the normal popular writing these days!.!.!.such as Twilight (stephenie meyer), Harry Potter (JK Rowling), His Dark Materials (Philip Pullman), Sabriel (Garth Nix)!.!.!.I absolutely loath "classic" books, such as the ones they make you read in school!. (Animal Farm, Anything Shakespeare, Catcher in the Rye)!.!.!. I want to find what people think is the "best" new modern books/series!. I am 18 years old, so you can suggest some more adult themed books (Vampire romance novels!? or just some interesting paranormal romance novels!?) !.!.!.I would also love to hear some Young adult novel suggestions, although I am trying to venture away from the Young adult section, and am truly confused on where to start!.!.!. Thanks everyone =)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Amelia Atwater-Rhodes is a mystical writer I personally enjoy!.

The Guardians of Time: The Named, The Key, The Dark (very good series)

Vampire Kisses series

Got Fangs!? and it's sequel Queen of the Darned

Dead Connections

The Compound (just came out this year and is one of the BEST books I have ever read!)

Avalon High (if you are more into reincarnated medieval romancey stuff)

The Mediator series (a kick-butt girl who gets into all sorts of trouble while putting the dead where they belong)

if you need any more just ask me!Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you are interested in historical fiction, try anything written by husband-and-wife writing team Brock and Bodie Thoene (pronounced Tay-nee)!. They wrote several great series set during WWII--the plight of the Jews, the Nazi bad guys, a little romance thrown in!.!.!.!.!.they're called The Zion Chronicles, The Zion Covenant, and The Zion Legacy!. There are other series set during different eras (such as the Great Potato Famine in Ireland)!. My favorite authors!Www@QuestionHome@Com

This excellent site ranks books in each genre by how many awards they've won, so they heavily favor the more recent books!.

I think you would like Anne Rice, Stephen King, and Dean Koontz!. Still in a similar genre, but a little more adult writing!.

also, if you were a fan of fantasy, I recommend Eragon and Eldest!. The author wrote Eragon when he was only 16!. There's a movie, but don't watch it!. :) The book is infinitely better!.

And, an old favorite, Lord of the Rings, though I may suggest starting with the Hobbit, It's an easier and faster read, and is a prequel to the Lord of the Rings trilogy!. It would let you know if you liked it or not!.

As for not liking classic books, keep an open mind!. Some are much better when you read them at a different stage in life!. And some, are really great books just disguised under a "classic author" :)Www@QuestionHome@Com
