Question: Would the series twilight saga be good for a 13 year old girl to read!?
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Of course!. I loved it and I read it when I was 13!. I was certainly old enough to handle the minor sexual reference in Eclipse!. (Enjoy it too) I don't understand how that could be a bad thing!. I mean, its not like I read it and decided "hey! I'll go have bla bla bla with a guy because it sounded cool in eclipse!" I mean, come on, 13 year olds are not stupid!

And yeah!. It says heroin in twilight!. But its funny!. Not like its convincing us to go get some or anything!. Quote, Twilight- "So, what you're saying is, I'm your brand of heroin!?" See!? Not bad!. How can you possibly assume that that is convincing us to go get heroin!?! Its funny!

Dont listen to what some crack head people say about it being 'a bad influence'!. It's not!. It's a great book for 13 year olds, and you should definatly go read it!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah, they are!. If you don't like Harry Potter (how could you not!?!?), these books really aren't the same besides the fact that there both in the fantasy genre!.
However, if you hate romance, these books aren't for you!.
also, for all of you twilight haters, can you just complain about it somewhere else!? I know that yahoo answers is always full with twilight questions, but just give the fans a break! Not all of us are crazily obsessed, and while even I think some of the characters are annoying, the other characters and the writing make up for it!.
Annnnnyways!.!.!.!.!.back to the original question- if your worried about the books being inappropriate, they really aren't!. Nothing ever goes too far!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

NO!. It is not good for a kid to read!. And anyone who says there are no inappropriate things in it is not telling you the whole story!. It is a very bad role model on many levels!. You have Bella - ugly duckling doormat who is verbally and emotionally abused by Edward and accepts it just because he is perfect and sparkly and likes her!. That is called codependence and domestic abuse!. You have the ultra thin and attractive Rosalie and Alice driving their fancy sports cars - symbols of what is attractive in women!. Then you have expressions of love such as "You are exactly my brand of heroin"!. Well, there is nothing sexy or lovey about heroin!. Heroin is a drug that KILLS!. It is a terrible book for kids!. Read some classics!. Please!. Read Pride and Prejudice!. Fall in love with the wonderful Mr!. Darcy!. Twilight is poison!. Pax-C

PS And thank you Marti - this is not a SAGA - The Illiad and the Odyssey are a saga!. This is birdcage liner and doesn't qualify to be considered a SAGA at all!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, In my personal view they can teach a lot, not just love of some fantastic things but respect, commitment, friendship, and of course, relationship, because we have to be honnest Edward and Bella have a beautiful relation that breaks all that we can read in other books and teach you that you can love somebody even if there is not fisical thing (you know that they have to be care in the fisical thing, because he can!.!.!.!. well eat her)!. If you are worried about violence, don't be, there's more violence in Harry Potter's books!. About vampires!? It's one of the best books for that, because it teachs you that not all of them are bad, so yes I think that it's ok or a 13 year old!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

OMG my sister is 11 and she's in love with it! It is amazing and perfect and!.!.!.read this description and don't underestimate it, I thought it sounded dumb, but it's amazing!
I’D NEVER GIVEN MUCH THOUGHT TO HOW I WOULD DIE– I’d had reason enough in the last few months –but even if I had, I would not have imagined it like this!. !. !. !. Surely it was a good way to die, in the place of something else, someone I loved!. Noble, even!. That ought to count for something!.”
When Isabella Swan moves to the gloomy town of Forks and meets the mysterious, alluring Edward Cullen, her life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn!. With his porcelain skin, golden eyes, mesmerizing voice, and supernatural gifts, Edward is both irresistible and impenetrable!. Up until now, he has managed to keep his true identity hidden, but Bella is determined to uncover his dark secret!.
What Bella doesn’t realize is the closer she gets to him, the more she is putting herself and those around her at risk!. And, it might be too late to turn back!. !. !. !.
Deeply seductive and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight will have readers riveted right until the very last page is turned!.
Read it! You won't be sorry! And it's really easy to read, I read it in one day!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

omg it was the best saga I've ever read make that best book Ive ever read
I'm 13 and i could not put the book down i literally cried when I was finished with the series the next book comes out August 2 2008 there's also a book called midnight moon which is Edward's stand-point plus the movies coming out it ah-mazingWww@QuestionHome@Com

No, I don't think it's healthy!.

It seems all the readers of your age get unhealthily obsessed with the books!. The main characters have a very unhealthy relationship (obsession, stalking, lack of trust, etc), no good role models there!. I cannot recommend it!.

May I suggest a few good books with female protagonists!?

Howl's Moving Castle by Diana Wynne Jones

The Bartimaeus Trilogy by Jonathan Stroud (3 main protagonists, one of which is a girl)

A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba BrayWww@QuestionHome@Com

i'm 13 and i LOVE the series
Just because you don't like HP doesn't mean you won't like this series (though personally i love both) Harry Potter and Twilight are very different!.

the whole herion issue was because Edward (a vampire) was describing how blood was addicting!. seriously, if you read it then you'll see nothing wrong with it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Totally! I'm thirteen and I read it :D
Don't listen to what others say that twilight is like sooo addicting and obsessive and people are gettting annoyed with soo many teens getting obssesive over it!. I mean would they rather have us on drugs or alcohol!? I think the series or saga, whatever you want to call it lol, is amazing! Most people who liked Harry Potter love it! So yeah, I highly recomend this book series :D

Twilight is not a Saga!. Thanks for not referring to it as such again!.

You can read it if you'd like!. If you like sappy, unbelievable romance you might enjoy it!.

May I suggest Scott Westerfeld, Tamora Pierce, and Meg Cabot as other authors you might enjoy more!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

There's plenty of 13 yr!. old girls who read them!. But actually the age range for the Twilight series is actually ages 14-19!. I guess it wouldn't make a difference by one year!. There might be some too sexual stuff for a 13 yr!. old but!.!.!. if you're okay with it than sure (: You'll love it! Have fun reading!

Breaking Dawn 08!.02!.08 - 18 more days from now *squee*Www@QuestionHome@Com
