The Horcruxes are objects containing a sliver of Voldemort's soul!. He intended to make six Horcruxes (7 pieces of his soul, the last piece being inside him) but he accidentally made 7 Horcruxes, Harry being one of them!.

They are trying to break into Gringotts so they can obtain a Horcrux that is hidden in Bellatrix's vault considering Voldemort has no vault of his own!. The Horcrux in Bellatrix's vault is a small golden cup bearing Hufflepuff's sign; it was stolen by Voldemort when he was younger!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

In the book, when you kill somone it splits your soul!. A horcrux is a valuble item that someone has stored a piece of their soul in!. This is usfull if like Voldermort you are for lack of a better word killed, you could still have a piece of your sould hidden somewhere so that you would not die!. This is how Voldermort survived the killing curse that rebounded off Harry when he was a baby!.
Voldermort intended to make 6 horcruxes!. He had hidden one of them into Bellatrix Lestrange's vault at Gringotts!. Harry, Ron and Hermione found out about this and decided to break into Gringotts in order to steal the Horcrux!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
