I think it's supposed to throw us off, like, someone died and Bella's saying "Oh how am I going to live!?" But first of all, the only person like that is Edward, and he won't die!. And second of all, even if he did die, Mike Newton would not be the one who she was talking to!. Unless I'm totally blanking on a different Mike!.

I think it's probably Bella talking about losing Jacob, and how she's very, very upset about it!. But now I feel like I blanked on another Mike, because I don't know why she'd be sad to Mike Newton!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
