Word suggestions(fantasy)?

Question: Word suggestions(fantasy)!?

This may sounds just like harry potter, but that's how it goes!.!.!.!.
I need a word for earth bound human--otherwise, non magical people, mortals!.!.!.but i don't want to call them mortals, because that's been used before in fantasy!. I'd like to make up my own word that is believable, like Rowling did with muggle!. Any ideas!?

Well, what is the contrast!? In other words, what are the unusual capabilities of the people who are going to use this word!? For example, if "merpeople" we would expect something like "airsuckers" or "landcrawlers" or just "crawlers"!. If winged people, "crawlers" again is appropriate, but also "grounders" (or the military "gropos" = "ground pounders"!. A lot depends on the characters using the word!.

in a book im reading they are called Anaweir (the warrior heir by Cinda Williams Chima, you should read it, it would probably help you) so call them!.!.!. whatever you want!.!.!. or a Conmage (con- like against and mage like magic!) or!.!.!. Consorcer (con- like against and sorcer like sorcerer!)
