synopsis?

Question: What is the difference between a plot and summary/synopsis!?

I am writing a book report for A Wrinkle in Time and i always get them confused they seem like the same thing to me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Plot is the actual storyline, summary/synopsis is a condensed description of that storyline!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A plot is a simple statement!. You can substitute the word "situation"!. Stephen King discusses it in On Writing!. The plot for Cujo for instance, "A woman and her son get trapped in their car by a rabid dog!." A synopsis is the complete story boiled down to about 2 pages - including the ending!. It is usually sent along with the query letter to potential publishers and agents!. Pax-CWww@QuestionHome@Com
