Any college where you can either major in english or literature!.!.!.!. you would actually most likely want to major in english!. All state colleges would be good honestly!.!.!.!.!. picking colleges is sooo over rated trust me!. If a college didn't think they could offer a major properly they wouldn't offer it at all!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The University of Iowa has one of the best Creative Writing programs in the country!. At this point, you would have to choose between an English degree or a Creative Writing degree, which not many colleges offer!.

I would also highly recommend Sarah Lawrence, which is in Yonkers, New York!. It's a liberal arts school to the extreme (they have a vegan café and everything), and on top of creative writing, you can take courses in theatre, language, music, and anything artsy you'd like!.

Really though, a college degree isn't going to make you a publishable author!. The only things that can do that is hard work, dedication, a thick skin that can take rejection (it's inevitable for everyone, unfortunately), and never giving up!. Never let anyone tell you that you can't do this, or that it's a pipe dream!. If you want to be a writer, then learn as much as you can, never stop writing or reading, and make sure to listen to constructive criticism!. If you do all of these things, you will undoubtedly become even more skilled at this craft, and publication will eventually happen!.

The only difference between failure and success is that those who succeed never gave up!. :)

Best of luck to you!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It really depends on the faculty!. I double majored at a school mostly known for its architectural and engineering programs, but the English Dept boasted PhD's from places like Harvard, Ohio State and Yale!. When you do your research, look into the faculty and see who they are and what their background is!. I know schools like Carnegie, Antioch and Emerson are more schools for the arts!. USC has a great film school and so I am sure their screenwriting program is excellent as well!. Pax-CWww@QuestionHome@Com
