Which books should I read over the summer?

I am to read one of these pairs of books!. I'm not too familiar with any of them so I could use some advice on which pair of books is most interesting and captivating:

2-"Wicked" (Gregory Maguire) + "The Shadow of the Wind" (Carlos Ruiz Zafon)

3-"American-Born Chinese" (Gene Yang) + "Little Big Man" (Thomas Berger)

4-"Property" (Valerie Martin) + "The Awakening" (Kate Chopin) or "Kindred" (Octavia Butler)

5-"The Pigman" (Paul Zindel) + "Speak" (Laurie Anderson)

6-"Beowulf" (!?) + "Grendel" (John Gardner)

7-"Life of Pi" (Yann Martel) + "Into the Wild" (Jon Krakauer)

I would pick number five because Speak is a really great book, however I am not familiar with The Pigman!. I think that Speak will definitely entertain and captivate you, it is one of my favorites!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wow, a great list!. I have read most of these books!.
Number 1 is an interesting pair!. One book about an autistic person -fascinating, and the other about a blind person - both inspiring!.

Number 7 pair is also quite interesting!. The Life of Pi is one of my all time favorite books forever!. A boy on a life raft in the middle of the ocean with a tiger at one end - incredible! The other book,too, about a lone guy on a lonely journey!.

I liked the Pigman when I read it in High School!.
So - maybe go with that pair!. I'd steer clear of Beowulf though!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I have never heard of the pigman but speak is a very very good book!. i've read the other books and their not that great so i would go with number 5Www@QuestionHome@Com
