Question: Question about Anthem by Ayn Rand!?
This might be a kinda stupid question but why is the sacred word "ego"!? Why wouldn't it be "I" or something like that!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

"I" simply relates to awareness of ones self, but "ego" insinuates a sense of pride!. A self awareness and an accompanying pride about being who you are!. That goes against the collectivist theories about not only combining your talents with others, but of putting others before yourself!. The ego is all about the self and putting it before all else!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It is kind of odd that the sacred word would be ego instead of something like I, but ego is the sacred word because it represents self value and self value is what characters in Anthem are really deprived of more than anything else!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
