Question: Need opinions please!?
Tell me your opinion & please be earnest!.
I am considering writing an interracially themed romance novel featuring a black woman & a white man!. However, the theme is somewhat dark in that it deals specifically w/ S&M, where the black woman is a submissive masochist & the white man is a dominant sadist!. It is set in a college setting: The older white man is a professor & the black woman is a grad student!. Both are intelligent people yet troubled & thusly, enter into a D/s relationship where they come to terms with exploring dominance & submission, the power of destruction, & ultimately the connections between trust & love!.
The reason I've chosen to write on this topic is because I think I am deeply interested in the role of D/s especially in terms of race & I don't think it's thought of in that light often!.

I definitely like your idea!. It's very creative, but sounds like a lot of work!. First, you'd need to be very committed to actually write this, and it is obviously a very complicated topic!. To have such controversial matters involving a white man being masochist, where the black woman to be sadistic- it kind of goes back to show dominance in races and classes!. Though, it would be an interesting read!.
The theme of trust sounds very necessary- anyways, best of luck, if you're going to write it, that is!. I hope you do though, it may not be a popular book, but it would be a respected one!.

It sounds like a great cross-over! Definitely work with it!. I think based on first reading that the only problem you may encounter is the ethical one regarding professor/student relationships!. However, it also sounds like that may be an inherent part of your novel's conflict!.

You will be doing lots of research first of all, and get all facts or fiction , you have a long road ahead of you, but anything is possible !
