Actually, there's somewhat recent information on his death, according to my English teacher last year!. It's true that he was an alcoholic!. He was found roaming the streets in the middle of the night on Oct!. 7th, 1849, presumably drunk, and was taken to a local hospital where he died!. Now, scientists (or whoever determines these things) are saying that he died of rabies!.

Of course, rabies is just the latest theory - no one really knows for sure!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

That is debatable!. Until recently it was thought he died of alcohol poisoning and related causes!. However, recently, doctors have come up with a theory that seems to indicate that he was, in fact, not a drinker at all but in fact allergic to alcohol and the he died from rabies!.
