Do you rock at dialogue!? Are you gifted with metaphors!? Do your endings fizzle!? Are your secondary characters clichéd!? I'll answer: I do rock at dialogue!. I love working with themes and intertextuality!. My voice is witty!. I stink at subplots!. The endings of my rough drafts often feel trite!. Sometimes I have so much dialogue it looks like I'm writing a play instead of a novel!. Your turn!Www@QuestionHome@Com Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: MY STRENGTHS: -I have no shortage of colourful, original ideas for stories!. -I'm pretty good at building strong, 3 dimensional characters - I regard myself as a bit of an armchair emotionally psychologist, and I LOVE creating complex, sometimes rather twisted characters!. -I have no problem painting images with words - I feel confident with language, am very visual, and people often comment on my vivid "word-painting!." -I find it very easy to write dialogue, too!. I think my writing voice is natural, reasonably witty!.!.!. MY WEAKNESSES: -Creating logical plots, full of interesting sub-plots!. I'm NOT a very logical person, and this is the bane of my life!!! -I often have a problem with "sagging middles!." Eeeeek!. -Often I include too much dialogue, too, to the point where I've contemplated turning to writing plays! -Pacing - sometimes I get too intense, and forget to pull back, and the poor reader must feel like she's stuck on a merry-go-round! -I tend to waffle far too much, reiterate things!.!.!. One part might be mind-blowing, and another might be disgusting!. My storylines can lack proper planning out!. I often have to write chapters prior to publishing this on a site or something, because I tend to write myself into corners!. My biggest problem!? This is the one that causes others; I don't stick with what I start!. Or, I just get bored or it gets too hard and I just give up!. STRENGTHS; My characters are usually VERY well done, developed and all!. The dialogue that I write is usually fitting to the mood very nicely!. I suppose I've still got to grow a bit in my writing capabilities!Www@QuestionHome@Com Well to start off I am super great at similies and metaphores and especially personifications!.!. I love painting pictures for people!. But here is the thing with my writing!.!. it is generally based on a dream!.!. I am not very good at just making up a story in a day (which makes English a horrible class for me!) and after these dreams!.!. or whatever it may be!.!. I think about the characters!.!. I consider this a strength I guess!.!. I sit there and I imagine every character and I literally have their WHOLE life story in my head!.!. it is like they are actually a person!. I have to have the tiny details or else I don't get into my writing at all!. But a huge weakness of mine is that I have A LOT of stories in my head!.!. the beginnings and the ends and somewhat of the middle!.!. so I start thinking ahead and I want other things to happen in their lives!.!. I just want to add a lot more to the characters lives and get into more depth!. I am not very good at the whole organization of it!. Than I usually get bored with it if my story is a long one because I have the story in my head!.!. but I just don't feel like putting it on paper!. I don't know why!.!. but that is just how I am! My endings are always things that blow up in your face!. They make you look back to make sure that you read right!. I have NEVER written cliches!. I stay as far away as possible from them!.
