I really loved Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles - my favourite was Queen of Damned - I loved the story arc bringing all the vampires together and learning more about each of them & then the finale when they all united to defeat Akasha was excellent!. I also really liked the parts in 'Merrick' dealing with Claudia and Louis - that was brilliant - but the story of Merrick herself I didn't find very interesting!. I was actually really disappointed with the last few books Anne Rice published!. It seemed like she was just churning the books out to fill the best seller slots and now she has said that she's not writing anymore vampire / witch / supernatural books!

I liked Laurel K!. Hamilton's Anita Blake series up until Book 9, the rest of them are just awful, but the first eight books were really good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Stephenie Meyer's Twilight is the best Vampire Novel I've ever read!.
And I'm not the only one who thinks that, there are millions of other people who think Twilight is the 'Best Book' they've read!. I've heard that in it's 1st day of release, it had sold 150, 000 copies and they said that Twilight had broken the record of J!.K!. Rowling's Harry Potter Best Seller record!.
If you haven't tried reading it yet, I recommend you buy it and read it for yourself and I'm sure you'll be as addicted to it as we are!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Bram stroker was the first vampire writer, but that was last century I think, but for all over scary books that are out there and you cant prove nor disprove his prose would have to be stephen king, have most of his books, some of which I have read over and over, some you just cant put down, you're either too scared of you need to know what happens next so that you can go to sleep lol! Honestly, I must have over 25 of his books and have still got a few more to go, but annoys the b/f when I wont turn the light off, so bought a touch lamp for beside the bed and wouldnt you know it, it turns it self on all the time and wakes you up, so book a book light, was happy with that for awhile but still complained cause the light was so bright, good for my eyes, not so good for his sleep lol! :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like Sunshine by Robin McKinley!.!.!. it's my favorite vampire book ever!.

And, although the 'author' part doesn't exactly apply (although 'writer' definitely would), Joss Whedon is another one of my favorites - Buffy and Angel are two of my favorite TV shows, the graphic novels are fun, and his graphic novel Fray is another one of my favorite vampire-related things ever!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I heard about blue bloods and the vampire academy though and want to start reading it!. I also heard about Anne Rice!. Trust me I have a list of like at least 50 books I want to read during the summer haha!.
