Question: Why do you prefer to buy a book to borrow it from the library!?

1!. No waiting list
2!. No germs from too many people
3!. No late fees
4!. I can build up my own library
5!. If I don't like the book, then I usually sell it or give it to someone else

6!. Sometimes books or dvds from the library are in bad shape and I like the newness of a book or dvd or other media
7!. These days you need a membership to do anything!. I like to minimize my involvement in the system!. I don't need to be in one more database that has my personal info!.

8!. Libraries sometimes have outdated books!. They don't always get the revised editions which sometimes add more pages, chapters, resources, etc!.
9!. Its my preference!. People don't have to get it or like it!.

I prefer buying books rather than borrowing them from the library for a number of reasons:
1!. Library books are sometimes in very poor condition, have pages ripped out and stuff written in it!. I once saw a stain in a book that looked a lot like body fluid (I think it was urine)!. They're really filthy sometimes!.
2!. When I buy my own books, I get to build my own library for my own book genres and preferences!.
3!. I can read my books anytime I want, for however long I want!.
4!. Sometimes when you want a certain book from the library, you have to reserve it because it's already been loaned!. And the waiting lists can be very long sometimes!.
5!. I love the new book smell!.

It would depend on how often I might use the book!. Something like a "reference book" (such as a cookbook, How-to book, etc!.!.!.) I would prefer to own the book!.

I love to get books from the library, but usually end up paying overdue fines on them!. also!.!.!.our county library is pretty LAME!.!.!.they seldom have the kinds of books I like, such as those I might find at Barnes and Noble!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I buy books because I like to have them to lend out to people (and force them to read my favorite books!. hahahah)!. And it supports the authors!. ^^

i sumtimes buy them or issue it for me frm the library
sometimes libraries dont have the book i want or sometimes they r borrowed by someone else
