ikd but sound kinda like saying sleep is pointless and is something that is dreaded!. also you cant accomplish anything!. like you cant when your dead!. Or it could be that death to some people is like everlasting sleep!. So every time you sleep its like being in a state of waking death and is continuously repeated !. So its like waking and dying multiple times, and the person loathes that feeling!. Just my interpretation, i could be way off!.

I've never heard this quote before but I'd guess it's talking about how when you sleep, you're unconscious and it's as if you're temporarily dead!. For somebody who loves life and is trying to make the most of their time on earth, sleep could seem like death, a little bit at a time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Perhaps the author didn't care for the oblivion of sleep--he feared death, and he feared not waking up one morning!. Either that, or he was tortured by nightmares!. i'd say when you sleep you have time to think of things you don't want to, things that feel like they are killing you and how much you hate the way sleep slowly kills you, not actually killing you but killing you in a way you don't want to be killed, having your heart broken into a million pieces or having thoughts cloud your mind that you don't want to think ofWww@QuestionHome@Com

It could mean that because you're asleep, you might look dead, or feel dead because!.!.!. well because you're asleep!. But my interpretation is the glimpses of death you have while you're asleep - in other words, nightmares!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
