She can inflict pain on a person with her mind!. (she tortures them)

It is explained that it is not actually physical pain that is inflicted; it is all in your mind, which is why it doesn't affect Bella like it does everyone else!.

However, it is effective; just because it isn't (as far as we know) permanent, doesn't mean that it doesn't HURT!.

And she COULD hurt them physically if she felt like it, people!. She IS a vampire, it's not really that hard!. It's not her "talent" though!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Jane would concentrate on someone and cause them to fall to the ground in pain!. They were not physically being hurt, she just caused them to think they were!. She did it to Edward in New Moon and the newborn vampire in Eclipse!. Hope this helps (=Www@QuestionHome@Com
