The Xanth books or Aprentice Adept books by Piers Anthony
The Amber books by Roger Zelazny
Goblin Quest by Jim Haines (pretty sure that's the right last name)

And of course there are the series like Forgotten Realms and Dragon Lance that are very popular!. I've never read those myself (I've read all the ones listed above) but I've heard they're pretty good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

My husband likes R!.A!. Salvatore, particularly the series that involve Drizzt (a drow or dark elf)!. He also has enjoyed several books from the Warhammer series, which also have that sort of setting!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

um you could always find books that are related to movies such as dragon wars perhaps it has a book!? eragon i heard was an awesome book series but the movie didnt follow it well, never ending story has a white fluffy dragon like thingy!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try "Legend" by David Gemmel!. It doesn't have any elves but it is medieval!. It's also a very strong book, I'm sure you'll like it and find it moving and impossible to put down!.
