Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Harry Potter!.
I know heaps of people will be like *lame* but still hear me out

Harry Potter is the perfect coming of age story, complete with the villain, the sidekicks and the love waiting at the end!. Every kid can relate to Harry, even though he's fighting a psychopath who wants to kill him!. He's mostly thinking about homework and friends and teachers that he hates and that spoiled rich kid who bullies him and sports practise and girls - aspects of every kids life!. But not only all that!. She's added a little bit of magic, a little bit of what every kid wishes they had!. His life is not all excitement; it is not all sad; it is not all funny, and that variance in tone reflects real life as well!.

JK Rowlings writes like a genius!. She narrates Harry's growing up perfectly, from the simple "Yay School!" atmosphere of PS, to the family history of PoA, to dealing with death in GoF, to Harry's discovery that adults lie in OotP, to his taking control of his destiny in DH !. !. !. The reader feels such a part of Harry's life, it's like we've grown up with him

JKR also portrays that things are very rarely simple, especially people!. James Potter as a teenager was an arrogant asshole; Voldemort had an unhappy childhood; Severus Snape loved Lily Evans; Sirius Black died partly because of his own impetuosity; Narcissa Malfoy spares Harry; Dumbledore wanted to rule Muggles and death!. Though the good vs!. evil lines are clearly drawn here, nearly every character has mitigating factors or shades of gray!.

And the foreshadowing! Seven books, the keys to the climax of the seventh laid in the first, a mystery in each book feeding into the mystery of the whole; red herrings and clues in plain sight (in retrospect) and characters mentioned in passing in one book blooming into central importance later; her incredible authorial control of her backstory, and incredible restraint, in never giving away a word more than she wants the reader to know at any one moment!.

Reading through the 7 Harry Potter books you can not only relate with Harry but grow with him!. JKR can make you smile, frown, jump, scream, laugh and cry all in one book!. Nothing I've read could ever match up with itWww@QuestionHome@Com

Twilight by Stephenie Meyer is the best book ever to me!. It was the first book I had non forcibly read for about 9 years, and now I am a tremendous reader!. Why it so good is because it's not a book, it's a story!. A book is just something that means nothing!. A story is when it can mean eveything, if not to one person, then to another!. Stephenie Meyer said that the characters are real to her!. They're not people she controls, they make there own choices!. I understand how she feels, and when I write it makes me feel like I have skits, because there are people in my head saying "I wouldn't do that!" or "I would answer this"Www@QuestionHome@Com

A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess

It's the most brilliant style of writing and the plot is really just captivating (if you can stomach the violence that is)

Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk runs a close second though, for similar reasons!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
