Yes, I was also disappointed with The Shining!. I mean, it just seemed like all of a sudden he was crazy!. There wasn't much of an apparent build up!.

My favourite is Misery, though it's very internal, as the main character is trapped with broken legs!. I also enjoyed one of his newer books, From a Buick 8, because you get a real sense of how the police officers in the book are a family, and you see how the events in the book make that family fall apart!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

1!. Misery--DEFINITELY!. The typical concept of an author pressured to write something the fans want--told in a grotesque and bizarre manner!. Genius!.

2!. I actually like "The Hitchhiker," which isn't a Fear Street book, but it's still by R!.L!. Stine!. Here I was--expecting the hitchhiker to be the scary killer, when he was actually a good guy who just happened to be picked up by the wrong people!. R!. L!. Stine caught me off guard that time!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Fear Street!.!.!.!.!.!.!.I can't remember a single one!. Is Goodnight Kiss the one where at the end the boyfriend tries to give his girlfriend her crucifix back but she denies it because she's a vampire!? I guess my favorite would be, The Wrong Number or The Face!. Other than that, I don't read Stephen King books!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Stephen King favorite is definitely Misery, it's scarier because it's something that could actually happen to someone!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
