Question: Does anyone else think there's a war between Harry Potter fans and Twilighters!?

Personally, I love both novels, both very well written, but HP fans tend to get on my nerves because they always bash on the Twilighters!. Basically, I'm Switzerland!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I personally love both series, but Harry Potter will always hold a special place in my heart!.

As to HP fans bashing Twilight fans, it's understandable!.!.!. They post questions that have been asked thousands of times before, recommend the books when it is either irrelevant or the asker has specifically asked for the books not to be recommended, and it it really getting annoying!.

Like I said: I love both series, but I understand all of the Twilight-bashing!. All of the Edward and Jacob fan girls need to get a grip!.

Edit: I agree with Nohj!. HP fans probably don't appreciate the comparison!. The two books are very different, and they're good in their own ways!. The authors shouldn't really be compared!. also, J!.K!. Rowling has managed to do what very few have been able to do-- get kids to read!. All Stephenie Meyer has managed to do is create an obsession!. Plus, JKR's fan base is so much larger than Meyer's!. Meyer is restricted to teenage girls (for the most part) and JKR has fans from ages 6 to 106 (of both genders)!. Huge difference!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i hope mtv doesn't try to sponsor hp again after that video, sorry but how do you bash a film series that you were just sponsoring last year!? to come to think of it they put no harry potter updates on there!. they don't even have the new pictures that have been out for 2 months!.the pics that they have they make fun of them by saying oh this is boring!. mtv shouldn't have said that because it wasn't good!. it was one sided and they lost a lot of respect from some fans

Most certainly!. Everyone has taken a side and I suppose there are always going to be sides with matters such as literacy!. I personally and a twilighter who has a harbored affection for Harry Potter as well!. I must say, I am on the fence as to "choosing a side"!.

Absolutely!. HP fans have a problem that the prediction that there will never be another book that is as good (or sold so much if you want to get into facts) as the HP series!. Well, Twilight is proving them wrong and people are getting angry!. Understandably so, yet, its not enough to justify continually bashing and sending rude and threatening messages to open Twilight fans!. I have read both series and personally have no problem with either!. I agree, I am also Switzerland on this subject!. ***Why isn't the United States taking a Switzerland approach to our foreign policy and more importantly, our war with "terrorism!."***

Ok, sorry for the rant!. Anyway, the reason they are compared is that they both gave kids a reason to believe, to believe in the imaginary, the impossible, the mystical, the wonderful!. Instead of twirling a joystick around all day and watching a little dude jump boulders!. HELLO!!! They both gave kids a reason to read!. That's why they are being compared!. I do agree that they both really shouldn't be compared since they are very different!. Yet, adults who haven't read the books, or have but don't understand the differences and our fascination of both, they compare them!. And its sad to say that the society we live in praises the adult, the celebrity, and the scandal; but shuts up the kids/teens, the disabled, the disfortunate, the minority!. Hope this helps!. Personally, I'm for HP!. I love Twilight, but likes been said S!.M!. isn't the next JKR!. Their styles are different, and they shouldn't constantly be compared to each other!. They should stand on thier own, because they're both great writers!.

I guess, though, I could even say I'm "Switzerland!." I fan of both, if you will!.

I LOVE HARRY POTTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.!.!. I'm going to read Twilight this summer; I can't wait!. I don't mind that Twilight is supposedly "stealing the fame"!.

What pisses me off is that people say Stephenie Meyer is "the next JK Rowling"!. She's NOT!. SM isn't even half the author JKR is-- I HATE the way SM writes!. I think she's a terrible author!. She writes like a 14 year old with a big word thrown in here and there!. JKR is one of my favorite authors, so it really bothers me that people compare SM to JKR!. They write in completely different ways about completely different things, and JKR has a lot more talent and creativity than SM does (IMO)!. I like JKR's writing style a lot more than I like SM's-- first person novels really bug me!. Anyways!.!.!.!. Stephenie Meyer is no JK Rowling, so it bugs me that people say she is!. And you can actually *learn* things from Harry Potter-- JKR managed to bring so many different aspects into the series!. Prejudice, love, evil, hatred, contention, friendship, betrayal, selflessness, the good in people, tragedy, cruelty, compassion, etc!. Whereas Twilight is just a chick flick in a novel!. It's just fluff!. A fluffy novel with 10-15 pages of climax with a lot of whining, cheesy love lines, and dramatic teenagers thrown into the mix!. To me, Twilight is the kind of series that no one will even remember twenty years from now, whereas HP is something that is going to be popular for a long time!. Twilight's appeal generally extends solely to teenage girls, whereas JKR has a universal appeal!. I've met 7 year old boys who love the series, and 60 year old women who love them! HP just appeals to people in general, not one specific age group!. Whereas most men would read Twilight and just laugh their head off the entire time (which is true for the most part!. My geography teacher read the series and he said that by the end of Eclipse he was just rolling on the floor and making fun of it all)!.

The point is, Harry Potter has an AMAZING plot!. JKR literally created a new world!. No one, not even SM, is ever going to be able to do what JKR has done!. So the comparisons really need to stop!.

Harry Potter is always going to PWN Twilight in my book!. Sooooo it really does bother me that people are comparing SM to JKR!.!.!. that's like comparing one tree to a forest (awww crap, I'm quoting Twilight now!. Haha)!!! In my opinion, at least!.
