When I was younger, I enjoyed:

Juniper and its sequel Wise Child by Monica Furlong

the Harry Potter series by J!.K!. Rowling, of course

Anne of Green Gables by L!. M!. Montgomery is a classic

My Side of the Mountain by Jean Craighead George was ironically interesting to me, considering I'm not a fan of the outdoors

I never actually got around to reading Lemony Snicket's Series of Unfortunate Events, but I've heard they're good

Radiance Descending by Paula Fox pulled at my heart

my 13-year-old brother likes Gary Paulson's books, particularly Hatchet and its sequels!.

I don't know; I guess by the time I was 13, I had discovered the world of romance novels, especially Nora Roberts, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Diana Gabaldon, Julie Garwood, and Janet Evanovich (--she's hilarious!)!. But if you're interested in reading these kinds of books, make sure it's okay with your parent or guardian, as they may be a little mature for some!. I, personally, will never regret reading my first Nora Roberts!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

For a young adult/teen I recommend Meg Cabot's young adult books!. She is the best author!. also best selling!. She wrote tons of books including the Princess Diaries (Movies based on her books), Mediator (upcoming movie), 1-800-Missing (TV show based on her books), Jinx, Airhead and more!. She has adult books too, so you can grow with her!.
