Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Get to know your characters first - draw up a history for each of them!. Give them a physical description!. Decide what their professions are, their interests, their hobbies!. Once you have 'fleshed' them out in this way, you will start to have a better sense of what kinds of names you want for them!.Www@QuestionHome@Com Hey, writing a book is an excellent idea! and murder mysteries are amazingly fun to read =] I usually start off by making a "Story Map" It may seem silly, but having events makes it soooo much easier! There may even be some sample ones online!. For character names, I reccommend BabyNames!.com It has a whole list of names and meanings, and there are categories!. Very fun and Very helpful when naming characters!. Good Luck, and Kudos on the new book!! ~Tweety BirdWww@QuestionHome@Com I agree with Old Lady!. I'm writing a story whose main characters are a flirtatious bar tender named Milly Abrams and a rather serious Aaron Hoshimoto who works in an underground organization that isn't exactly!.!.!.legal!. I like to have a feel for my characters before naming them!. Milly's name came to me immediately; Aaron's took me an hour to decide his last name and a good two or three days to decide on his first!. Decide on their jobs, their ethnicities, their clothes style, their personalitys and then go to a baby names site or, one of my favorites: http://www!.behindthename!.com From that site, you can choose an ethnicity (For instance, Aaron is Japanese, so I went to surnames!.behindthename!.com to find his last name under Japanese) and then choose if you want masculine or feminine names!. From there, you just have to search! Good luck~!Www@QuestionHome@Com This is what I do!. I put down things that describes the person!. Such as, for murder mystery, Hero, Detective, Male (or Female) and if its the main character, your name!. Then take your lucky number and write down each letter that you land on for it until something clicks!. Example: My lucky number is 7 Hero Detective Male David ( This clicked in my head) His name is Tom VadecWww@QuestionHome@Com write down what they like, do in spar time, and simply describe them get to know them it helps!. write a background of them!. then name them!. you can also draw a pic if you are an artist!. hope this helps and God BlessWww@QuestionHome@Com Okay, when I took my AP English, we wrote a book!. Didn't want to think too much about names and such, so, I just picked the actors and actress that I liked back then!.!.!. "Geez, George!" replied Tom Hanks!. hehehhehe Goodluck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com You definately need to get to know your characters first!. Once they really take shape in your mind, if you're lucky, they should start writing the story by themselves!.Www@QuestionHome@Com For the Guys: Jason Calvert Colby Hunter Conner Bates For the Girls: Mallory Taylor Cammie Rowland Jenna Carter Neiva KramerWww@QuestionHome@Com Vannessa Rodrigues- The lawyer Phil Dawsin- The hero Jacob Caron- The murdererWww@QuestionHome@Com |
