A world name?

Question: A world name!?

Hey, in my novel that i am currently writing!. I need a name for a fantasy world!. If anyone has any ideas, or can give me any suggestions or help, it would be greatly appreciated!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Well it depends on where the fantasy world is set!. For example, the novel I'm writing (which is also fantasy), revolves around celtic/latin legends, Fey/Fae and such, so I chose a celtic word meaning "Fairy Kindom"!.!.!. so the world is called Faylinn!.

So, I would take a specific word or phrase that is signifigant to the plot, and translate it into another fitting language!.

But, I'm assuming that you are expecting a made up, imaginary sort of name so I'll list off a few that I can remember from books, movies and such to help you out!.

You could also take two words, place names, object, etc!. and combine their names to create a new word!.

1!.Think of the land itself, is it old, new!?
2!.Is it in the future, alien, similar to this one, imaginary!?
3!.Who inhabits your world, what are the names of the people, plants, animals, creatures!? Describe them!.
4!.Does the world have any values, what are they!? Is it war torn, is it nostaligic, country values valuing a slower lifestyle, etc!?
5!.Does the world operate under a form of government, what kind!?
6!.Who would be the leader of your world, your country, town, city!?

**Now you should have some answers to these questions that should pop up a name!. For example:
1!. new 2!. alien 3!. Crims, Grectchtors, Jaccons- Grechtors mosterous beasts that eat the Crims!. The Crims are a sub species that are not cared for that are ruled by the elite Jaccons!. 4!. Power 5!. Authoritarian 6!. Dran-would be the leader of the Jaccons, Lakisvlava leader of the Grechtors, and Allenic leader of the Crims(they are more human)!.!.!.
***So, My names are sounding germanic and slavic!.!.!.
At this point I'd want to know the German word for master and the Russian word for slave and put them together:

I think that I would pick a name that played on the characteristics of your world!. For example if I were to choose a name for Mars I might find something that represented red, dry, mountains, or something along that line!. If I were to find a name for Earth I might look for a name that expressed the meaning of life!. I might consider going to a Native American website to find names with meaning since many of their names are appropriate for things like that!.

Can you tell us a little about your planet!?

Here is another idea!.!.!. look up names of grapes/wines (just because I like the way some of them sound)!.

There used to be a planet name generator somewhere for just this purpose, but I don't remember where it is!.

Do a Google search for "planet name generator" and see what you get!. Try in quotes and out of quotes!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try looking through names in foreign languages, especially Hebrew and Latin!. Depending on what the world is like or what the story is about, you could find a name with a meaning that has something to do with your book!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
