remus lupin is gay!?with sirius black!?i've seen sevral fan fictions on that plus those stupid harry potter stories on dumbledor being gay!.i know he is but why do people have it on harry/draco remus/sirius and ron/harry!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

here's another queston: Why do so many people over react to a creative choice chosen by the author of a fanfiction you are not required to read!?

When non-cannon pairings appear in fanfiction it does not mean the author disagrees with Rowling's verion, nor that they want to ruin the story, nor that they are trying to be disgusting/funny/crude or any other negative connotation!.

Fanfiction writers enjoy being creative!. They come up with new situations based on the background presented in the books!. The pairings you mention in your question are far from the oddest as they at least are grounded in cannon speculation!. It would make more sense to wonder how some authors come up with such weird pairings as Ron/Giant Squid!.

These stories, along with others are written as an excericise in expanding one's creativity and improving writing skill!. I can't believe how many people who answered this attacked and stereotyped the authors of these stories!. I wonder if these people get just as upset with the authors that write AU stories which completely disregard cannon altogether!.

As for how the idea for these pairings have arisen, like I mentioned before, speculation based on cannon has supported these theories (whether or not they are true)!. Speculation for the Remus/Sirius relationship was so strong that Prisoner of Azkaban director Alfonso Cuaron instructed Remus Lupin actor David Thewlis to play the character gay!. This was confessed by Thewlis after the revelation that Dumbledore was a homosexual!.

Many readers enjoy stories based on homosexual relationships just as much as those centered on heterosexual romance!. I see this as a great improvement in tolerance and understanding!.

Bottom Line!? Writers use those pairings because

1) It stretches creativity
2) They are centered on loose speculation rather than coming completely from left field

1- Some people actually think it's funny!.!.
2- Some people have overactive imaginations that, make up absurd stories that don't exist, which are considered gross, at least I find them gross!.
3- All that Harry\Ron and Harry\Draco love thing is just disturbing, I can't stand all those disgusting fanarts, and all the messed up and edited pictures, they're really gross!.
4- Some people want to shuffle up and change things to make them more interesting, and well I don't find that interesting in any way!.
5- Some people can't seem to grasp the obvious fact that NONE of them is gay, since they all are married to females and they all have children!.
6- The Remus\Sirius thing doesn't make sense, because if I'm not mistaken Sirius was James' best friend obviously, so if he hypothetically speaking was gay then that indicates that James was gay too, which is impossible!.
7- I doubt that a gay male, would 'show-off' in front of female girl!.
8- And most important, just because J!.K announced that Dumbledore is in fact gay, that DOESN'T mean that every other male character is gay, especially if they ARE married!.

Some people think that these parings should be in the books!. It's just like the cannon parings, except for they aren't in the books!. I personally don't think that either remus or sirius is gay, nor do I think that of Harry, Ron, or Draco!. Because they think it is funny to make out that the characters are gay even though they are blatantly not!!I havent read any of thsoe fan-fics but people probably just dot hem cause they cant think up anything else other than to make it "weird"!.
