I'd be quite content never reading Moby Dick ever again!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
lord of the flies, i hated it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Moby Dick, I absolutely hated that book and in order to pass American Lit the teacher selected a book for each of us for extra credit, I had 1 weekend to read it, I read like 450 pages per day, and it was a horrible book to add insult to injury!.

Edit: I didn't read your clarification, sorry to repost the same book!. So Ill add: Every R!.L Stein Goosebumps I read before I turned 7 and found Stevie King!. I read The Stand unabridged and it made me a convert!.!.!. and made me a germaphobe!. Hank David Thorough, I just couldn't get into the whole civil disobedience thing!.
Books not read but never will: near anything fantasy, that means elf and goblin and fairy fantasy, no LOTR, no gothic sad pants cutter vampire books either, and no sports star biographies!. Oh Harry Potter included, I cant stand that crap!.!.!. but saying so is near sacrilegious for the 6-10 yo demographic!. Oh, and any novel with Fabio on the cover!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Mine would be Burned Alive by "Souad"!. Its a "true" story about a muslim girl who gets burnt by her family for having sex before marriage and gets saved by a aid worker, and goes to Europe and is under whitness protection!. Its an average book, but I dislike the bias against the muslim culture, and there is a scandal that is actually just a fake!. I much prefer the series of true books that are written by Jean Sasson with the help of a princess from Saudi Arabia!. It is unbiased and offers lots of knowledge about muslim culture, religion and practises!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

"The Myth of Sisyphus" by Albert Camus!. A much better goalkeeper than a writer!. Utter rubbish!.
Anything by Ayn Rand (however you spell it)!. Garbage, and pretentious garbage at that!. I should have known that since she couldn't spell "Anne" that she couldn't write for sh*t!.
Another answerer is right about "A Passage to India" by E!. M!. Forster that I too had to suffer at school!. It keeps on and on about heat and dust and the "fists and fingers of the Marabar hills" and Mr Forster ought to have been taken there and stranded!.
"Cryptonomicon" by Neal Stephenson!. This book should be given as punishment in prisons!. It's so bad that words like "boring" and "drudgery" and "cr*p" don't begin to describe it!. Neal S!. should be tracked down and punished himself for foisting this on the public, the git!.
Anything by Mandasue Heller or Martina Cole!. These two are the sickness and diarrhoea of the lower-class no-plot poorly written trash end of the market!.

Apart from that I like pretty much anything!. Catholic taste in books, me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis!.
It's really well written and that's exactly why it makes you feel awful!. The protagonist doesn't think that there is anything wrong in killing women in terrible ways, it's part of his life!. By reading it, somewhere you acknowledge this!.!.!. in a way, you are a partner in crime!. You enjoy the un-enjoyable!. Terrible feeling!. Genious writing!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

anything i've read at school in lessons, teachers have a way of ruining a book by getting almost illiterate students to read out loud!. this just makes the person even less confident, and sends everyone else to sleep!.

so the list includes, the machine gunners and great expectations
