Dan Brown's book is very heavily based on the 1981 book "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" by Baigent, Leigh, and Lincoln!. HB/HG was presented as non-fiction and was one of the first major works to claim that Jesus and Mary Magdalene were married and that the Merovingian kings of France were descended from them!. The book also claimed that a secret society, the Priory of Sion, had protected the descendants of the "Holy Family" throughout the centuries and had hidden the knowledge away from the world until such time as it was appropriate to be revealed!.

Much of their information came from a French man named Pierre Plantard, who claimed to be the Grand Master of the Priory of Sion!. Unfortunately for Baigent, Leigh, and Lincoln, Pierre Plantard had to testify in court about the Priory, and he admitted under oath that the Priory of Sion was a hoax, a story he had made up and had forged documents to back up his fraudulent claims!.

So!.!.!.what this boils down to is, Dan Brown wrote a novel!. A work of FICTION!. He based much of his novel on fraudulent information!.

Despite the disclaimer in the beginning of the book that "all documents are real, everything presented as truth is verified truth," in fact there is no substance behind any of his characters' claims!. There's nothing in the novel that should make anyone doubt their religion, because there's nothing in the novel that is based in verifiable FACT!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not very religious either but u have to remember that the book is fiction!.It shouldn't change your believes because non of it is true!.!.!.Yes,i agree it opens your eyes, reading something like this ,but u have to take into consideration that the book it's not true!.!.!.There are facts that prove the Dan brown's concept it's wrong!.!.!.we could never know for sure what happened 2008 years ago and so doesn't Dan brown also!.!.!.!.so if the religion it's a fake thing,a lie or the path we need to follow only u can decide that coz nothing is for sure!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I loved the book, but I'm not a huge religion person, so I mostly just skipped over the in depth religious parts!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's a combo of fiction and urban legend, with a heavy plagiarism of early speculative books on the topic!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

its dan brown's point of view so we must not treat it as the ultimatum

so we shud treat it like that
nothing shud shake ur faith even if its not much!Www@QuestionHome@Com
