Question: Is Dan Brown the author of "Da Vinci Code" a one hit wonder!?
I have all 4 of his books:

Angels and Demons
Da Vinci Code
Deception Point
Digital Fortress

If you haven't read Angels and Demons, it's a must read prior to reading "Da Vinic Code!." A&D is the prequel to Da Vinci Code!. The other two books were ok!. But just like everyone else, I've been eagerly awaiting his new book "The Solomon Key!." That's if he decides to keep the title!. Rumor has it that he's doing some serious research before releasing his new book!. Remember all of the legal red tape that he had to endure because of supposeded plagerizism!? I don't think he wants to go through that again!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It's got to be awfully hard to follow up a book like Da Vinci Code!. The last thing he wants is reviews that say "not as good"!. Then there was the plagiarism suit!. Which he WON incidentally!. So I think he is approaching Solomon Key very carefully!. There has been a lot written about Freemasonry!. Some good - a lot bad!. It is a very secretive organization and not easy to get facts straight!. Mr!. Brown is taking his time to get it right!. And I do not blame him!. Who wants their follow up book after a huge hit to tank!? I have heard dates ranging from end of this year to next spring!. It will be out when he is ready!. And no he isn't a one hit wonder!. His other three books did a lot of business!. He has been quite successful with all 4 - but none came close to the Da Vinci Code in terms of popularity!. That was a once in a lifetime occurrence I think!. Pax-CWww@QuestionHome@Com

they're making an angels and demons movie!. and i really preferred that book than the da vinci code!. (i still do like it though)

the da vinci code will still be more popular just because it is about religion and the Church and stuff!.!. and that kind of issue causes uproars and controversies!.!. thus, more audience!.

as for his other books, i dont think theyre as well-known or going to be as popular as his 2 more famous books!. i liked all of it, but they werent as good!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think so!. If you look at the sales figures and marketing (or lack thereof!) for the books before DVC, they're very low!. Of course, he'll ride on DVC for a few more years, but even that books is highly derivative, not very well written, has fairly wooden characters, and a very predictable plot line (especially if you knew anything about the merovingeans beforehand -- and lots of people with an interest in French culture and history do!)!.

We'll see when his next book is published later this year, but he's definitely peaked!. The question now is how quick the slide down will be!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yeah he def didnt plagiarise!. Umm I disagree about reading Angels and Demons before hand because Da Vinci is the sequel but not in the sense that the same plot continues!. Cause I read them out of order just fine!. But he definately isnt a one hit wonder, becasue although there was so much hype for DaVinciCode that doesnt mean that people arent still reading his other works!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I haven't read Deception Point yet but I've got a copy waiting for me!. I enjoyed his other three books, though I won't quite put him up there with Clive Cussler!. I've heard they keep pushing back the release date for his next one, but I'll probably read it out of curiosity!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think he made so much money from the Da Vinci Code that he doesn't ever need to write another book - ever!. I'm surprised that he'd even bother!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i have read everything except deception point and so far i think he hit it with Da Vinci code but missed the mark on everything else!.!.!.!.just my opinionWww@QuestionHome@Com

i dont think hes a one hit wonder at all!. all four of those books are great!. i heard angels & demons is being filmed presently!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've only read the da Vinci Code, and I only read that because my daughter lent it to me!. It is so full of inaccuracies, that I wouldn't go out of my way to read any other book by Dan Brown!. His two main characters go into a station in Paris close to the Opera and the Stock exchange (Gare St!. Lazare) and emerge (from the same station), in an 'industrial' area with many different ethnic minorities (Gare du Nord)!.
Leonardo da Vinci 'experts' would have figured out that the message was in mirror writing, long before they flew off to Scotland!.
He might have a point about Opus Dei, but if you want to get the low-down on the society, then Umberto Eco's 'Foucault's Pendulum' is a much better book!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
