How about this!.

The seal always kills the penguins, as is commonly known!. Then, one day, the tables are suddenly turned!.!.!.

A seal is caught in a trap of some sort (I'll leave that up to you) and the only living things that could possibly help him are penguins, who hate the seal for hunting them!. A debate ensues as to what should be done!. Most think they should kill the seal!. Some say leave him!. But one penguin, the elder penguin, surprises them all when he unexpectedly commands that the Seal be set free!. The seal thanks him but is confused, because, he says, "If I were you, and you were me, I would have killed you!." But the elder penguin says, "Treat others how you wish to be treated!. You will never hunt us again!."

And there you have your fable!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Leopard seals catch penguins by their feet and then beat them back and forth on the surface of the water to skin them!. Then, they eat the carcass!.
That is a direct quote from http://www!.antarcticconnection!.com/antar!.!.!.

You could write a fable which explained that long ago, the penguins did something (teased the seals for being big and ugly, maybe!?) which is why the seals eat them now!.

Alternative: a penguin could do something nice for the seal, which would cause the seal to refuse to eat penguins!. Trite, boring, but it's art, not creative writing class!. To spice it up, add the fact that the seal would then starve to death!.

Another alternative: a seal has a broken tail, and a penguin sets the bone and splints it so that it will heal!. Later on when the seal would usually be hunting penguins, it can't move because of the splint!. Victory to penguins!

Good luck with your temporary career as a Fabulist!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I don't know if this helps, this is a very extensive list of Aesops fables and their animals!.

It could be used as inspiration for your work!.
