I am soo disappointed in JKR!. She set up a mystery, played it for several books, and totally avoided the question in the final book!. I am referring to Aunt Marge!. Whats up with her!? Who sent the howler!? What did "remember" mean!. How did she know about dementors!? From her sister during childhood!? Not likely!.JKR originally said that a muggle would end up at Hogwarts, and I bet it was Marge!. But WTF!.She wouldn't let her hubby kick Harry out!. WHY!!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Dumbledore sent Petunia the Howler!. Petunia knew about dementors because she heard Snape telling Lily about them!. She wouldn't let Vernon kick Harry out because Dumbledore sent the howler!.
I think you got Petunia and Marge mixed up!. Marge is the crazy dog breeder that Harry turned into a balloon in PoAWww@QuestionHome@Com

Dumbledore sent the howler and I think he was referring to the letter he left on the doorstep, which probs explained why Harry had to stay with them so that his mother's love would stay with him!.

also, he sent her another letter when she was young because she sent him a letter asking if she could go to Hogwarts too but he sent her a letter saying that she couldn't!.

And the dementors thing, if you remember, Petunia was hiding in a tree when Snape was telling Lily about the dementors when they were little kids!.

The howler was sent by dumbledore, but it wasnt sent to aunt marge, it was sent to aunt petunia (marge was vernons sister that harry blew up at the beginning of PoA)!.

Petunia was jealous of lily's abilities and was more aware of the happenings in the wizard world than she ever let on (this is revealed through snapes memories in deathly hollows)!. She also knew about the magical protection that was placed on Harry when she accepted him into her home, and the danger he would be in without it!. it's been a while since i read it, but if i remember correctly dumbledore left a letter when he dropped baby harry off at the dursleys that told her what was going on!.

I think you mean Aunt Petunia!. Aunt Marge was the one that Harry accidentally turned into the human balloon!.

Dumbledore sent Petunia the howler, reminding her of the letter he left with Harry on the front step!. By taking in Harry as I child, she agreed to house him during the summers until he turned 17!. The letter reminded her of her promise, and not wanting to break it, she forced Vernon to let Harry remain!.
