You know, someone who tells you how great your life can be and the unlimited possibilities that await!. !. !.

Then he commits suicide after his book sells three copies in ten years!.

Would you read his book!? Why!?

(I think the "why not" is obvious in this case)Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ha ha ha, sweet sweet irony!. Sure, why not!? Just because he killed himself doesn't mean his books won't help someone, if they're really self-help books!. Sounds like a case of someone needing to take their own advice!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Sure!. You read all kind of books with that sort of dramatic irony!.

'The Bell Jar,' aka 'I am really OK now, honest!' by Sylvia Plath!.

'Mein Kampf,' aka 'Here is my brilliant idea to help Germany!' by Adolf Hitler!.

In both cases, the writers were dead wrong!. In both cases, the books are still illuminating to read precisely because of how wrongheaded they were when they wrote it!.

(Obviously, I'm not comparing Plath with Hitler here--just that they were the two most obvious examples that sprang to mind!.)Www@QuestionHome@Com

If his book sold three copies in ten years, I doubt I would ever even hear of him!. A publisher would probably have long since dropped it from their catalog and tossed the remainders into bargain bins somewhere!. So it is unlikely I would read it!. Pax-CWww@QuestionHome@Com

HAHA NO!. Has that actually happened!? I think that's really funny!. Not the part about the author committing suicide of course, it's funny in an ironic way!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Umm!.!.!.no!. No, I would not!. I'd think it was extremely hypocritical!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I doubt that I would, but maybe it would depend on what kind of self-help book we're talking about!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
