I don't think either is 'better' than the other!. Edward and Jacob are such different characters in many ways and to differentiate between the two in that manner would be not be fair on them!. Having thought about their roles in the books, especially involving Bella, and their situations, if you look at it from one spectrum to the other, I think it is hard to draw the line as to whom is ‘better’ and in what sense!? Edward is so devoted to Bella and Jacob is too!. It just so happens that Bella cannot share the same relationship with Jacob and has this eternal love for him Edward, that could not be surpassed!. But looking at Jacob, it’s hard not to love him for trying so hard to be what Bella wants, what he thinks she needs and I think, though he is outrivaled, definitely is an important person in Bella’s life and I think she’s learnt a lot from him!. So, I love them both!.

i like Jacob!. i used to like Edward but then i started to think about it!. Bella can't have a Family with Edward!. her life is pretty much over if she gets changed!. she wont be able to see her friends or family ever again!. Edward is pretty much killing her!. and what if when he changes her he stops loving her!. because the only reason he likes her is because her blood "calls" for him!. also Edward has already left Bella!. What if he just leaves her again!. do you know how bad that would hurt bella!.
Jacob loves Bella!. she could have a family with him!. she even had a dream about it!. she realized how much she belongs to him!. also Jacob has never left Bella!. and he would never leave her!. also Jacob is more believeable then Edward!. there is people actually out there like Jacob!. Minus the werewolf part!.
so that is why Jacob is better then Edward!.

Jacob's amazing - I love him!. But, Edward is perfect!. Him and Bella have loved each other and still do!. Their love is something amazing!. well, i had no question in my mind that it was edward until when i read eclipse, and i starting feeling really bad for jacob and edward started acting like a jerk towards him!.!.!.
