he cant eat food cause vampire's/his "food" source is blood

Because in the Twilight series, when someone becomes a vampire, their body just freezes in the state that it is currently in!. That means if you are awake when you get transformed, you will be awake forever!. If you eat food, your body won't be able to digest it because all your systems have stopped working!. She even once said that if someone was pregnant when they turned into a vampire, they would stay pregnant for the rest of their lives!. BLAH!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Vampires drink blood!. No matter what country you take the Vampire legend from, that is the trate that always sticks!. The Vampire must drink blood to survive!. In the book, it says he CAN eat food, but it does nothing for him and tastes terrible!. The only thing that tastes good and can nourish him, is blood!.
As for not being able to sleep, he has gained attributes that humans don't have!. With being incredibly strong, gorgeous, intelligent, and can live forever, amongst other things!.!.!.he does not need to sleep!. He is never tired, he CAN'T be tired!.!.!.which makes him unable to sleep!.

Edward is a Vampire and a vampire in fiction is comped to a bat!. although Edward can not turn into a bat like other fictional vampires he does not sleep just like a bat!. At like most vamps he is a blood drinker therefore he may eater food just like you and i could drink blood

It was the world Stephanie Meyer created, some have vampires unable to eat, others can, (like Edward) but find it disgusting, others are gourmet chefs!.

The sleeping thing is another one of those things that she decided on, but I've never encountered it elsewhere!. It's a bit silly!.

Yea, he CAN eat food, because in Twilight, he takes a bite of pizza to show Bella that he can!. But Stephenie Meyer said on her website that eventually, they have to throw it up!.
