For many reasons, he did not perceive himself to be "Dad!."

Being called by his first name gave the children a more independent status and him an ingratiating status!. It was a powerful tool to present their elevated opinion of him as a defense attorney!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Because he's nuts, obviously!. All fictional characters are, or they would be boring!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
