Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Charles Jenks - Modern Movements in Architecture
Nikolaus Pevsner - Pioneers of the Modern Movement
Rayner Banham -Theory and Design in the First Machine Age
Peter Collins Changing Ideals in Modern Architecure!.

These should give some coverrage - also Tom Wolfe - from Bauhaus to Our House - which gives the aftermath!.

These focus on the architects but it was of course much more than that - furniture, painting, scupture, typography, textiles and ceramics!.

Any standard work on the twentieth century modern movement will give the history of the building at Dessau, the Fagus Factory and the main protagonists including Walter Gropius and Laslo Moholy-Nagy, marcel Bruer etc!. The Bahaus was closed down by the Nazi's in the 1930's and most of the taching staff (many were Jewish) feld to the UK and USA!. Google individual names including Paul Klee and Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe!.

Very inluential continues to influence much of modern design today!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
