Im writing one and this is my edvise of what I would do!.

You start out with thinking of what you want to write, fiction, non fiction, etc!.,after that you write a drecription about what its about, then you make a rough draft, then go back and fix up mistakes and things that might not work or you dont like, then let your parents, english teacher (or someone who can find mistakes that you miss) to read it and see if there are any mistakes left, when your done with that, then rewrite it and get it published!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Start at the beginning!.!.!. get an idea!. Once you've got an idea, work around it!. Write the book, then worry about getting it published!. It should be a fun task that isn't dependent on others (publisher, agent, the readers), just get it done without worrying!. If you feel it is a story thats never been heard before, go about finding an agent!. From there, it will be edited a few times over, then sent to a publisher!. Make sure you have an agent, those people come in handy as far as advertising your book and finding a decent publisher!.

Well, for writing, I'd reccomend actually writing your rough draft in PENCIL in a spiral notebook!. Once you're done, go back and fix whatever you don't like!. Once you have it how you like it, type it up on the computer and print it out!.
You'll need an agent if you want to be published!. They know how to talk to the *right* people so you can get published!. They're a bit pricey, but essential if you want to get published!.
also, I have to warn you: only 2% of agent-submitted manuscripts get published PER YEAR!. Dissapointing, I know, so you'll need a lot of patience and endurance!. If you fail to be published the first time around, keep trying!.

You can usually find a publisher that's local!. Try googling your zip code with the word "publisher" to find one near you!. There are several "self publishing" companies!. When you are near completion, you might run an add in your local paper saying something like!.!.!."Local girl writes a great new book!. Be sure to order early!" When you know how many pre-orders you have, you can go ahead and get those and some extras to donate to a library or maybe take to a store to sell them on commission for you!.

me, my sister and my dad are all writing books!. first you have to make up the main idea of the book and the big events!. then you make up the charactors and what their role is in the story!. then you make an outline showing what happens in each chapter or part of the book or how ever you brake it down!. then you start wrting the roughdraft!. so people reading it get a good idea bout what the book is about!. the first few pages has to be interesting so it draws the reader in and makes him/her want to buy the book!. then start writing!. the key like i said is to make th efirst few pages or chapters interesting!. i don't know how you can find an agent or publesher or anything but i bet you can google it!. i would suggest to put all your writng on a computer so it can save and no one can steal it!.
