make a scrapbook with the pictures and anything else you have from the trip, like plane tickets or hotel stationery (c'mon, you know you've taken a few sheets off that pad, or maybe even the whole thing, lol)

head to a photo shop (or even your local 1-hour photo) and turn your pics into a photo book

make a slideshow with your pictures set to music (onetruemedia!.com, or even your local 1 hour photo again)

buy a poster size frame and make the best shots into a collageWww@QuestionHome@Com

Start by culling them!. I typically have up to 2000 images when I holiday, and the first step is to get that down to about 200 really good photos!. This would be about 10/day of your vacation, still more than enough to tell the story!.

I normally do this is two steps, culling about two thirds in the first step!. Unless it has special value, take out anything that is poorly composed, poorly exposed or just not as interesting!.

Then I look for five to ten interesting images that tell the story of each day - where you were, what you saw, who else was there!. Its not a strict rule, because some days may only need one or two photos, so you can give others some more should you want to do that!.

You now have the basic set you want to publish for your friends and family!. Start to work up captions, even if they are only to locate the photo in the correct town, state or other locality!.

I publish in two places, www!.travelblog!.org or picasaweb!.google!.com!. Travelblog lets me tell the story of the trip, and illustrate it with photos!. Picasa allows you to caption images, but it doesn't really deal with developing a story!. Sometimes a day by day story is much more interesting than just browsing through the photos!.

There are plenty of other travel blogging and picture publishing sites, so find one that suits you!.

Last, unless you have pretty good friends, don't show them the whole 1200 pictures, even on the web!. At three seconds an image, this is 3600 seconds, or 60 minutes of viewing!. Even if you put 150 images up, this is nearly eight minutes they will need to get through them all!. You will need them to be really interesting to keep them from getting bored!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
