Not a picture I would really want on my calender!. But instead of just critisizing, I'll show you how to take better pictures!.

1!. The picture is really blurry and "soft" Whether it's because you couldnt hold your camera still or the focus didn't get it right, it's advisable to use a tripod, check the focus on the LCD monitor before taking the picture!.

2!. Composition/Framing is poor!. The picture does not have a real subject, The statue is too central, and the flower pot on the left adds to unnessecary clutter!. Take pictures according to the "rule of thirds" and keep everything neat and tidy!.

3!. Lighting is poor!. Obviously, you used flash and a dark situation!. The perfectly sensible thing to do!. However, as you can see, the flash casted an ugly shadow at the back, and the subject lacks any sense of 3 dimension!. Best times to take pictures are at sunset and sunrise, when lighting is at its best!.

Anyways!.!.!. keep on trying ! (:Www@QuestionHome@Com

[good!. followed rule of thirds, nice contrast in color, good shadow!.!.!.]

Ok!.!.!. you do realize that Soccerk is kidding you, or for his sake I hope he is!.

This photo is exactly opposite everything he said!. Awful composition, subject is dead center!.!.!. does NOT follow the rule of thirds!. There is poor contrast!. the photo is very "flat"!. The harsh shadow from the direct on camera flash looks terrible!.

Maybe he was trying to be funny or not hurt your feelings, but you asked how the picture is and I told you the truth!. Being a beginner really has nothing to do with it as far as I am concerned!. Saying something is good when it is not will not teach you anything or help you to improve!.
