Question: Why are famous painters famous!?
I've often wondered when seeing for example Picasso's paintings if I would become famous for doing the exact same thing, or is it rather his name that makes people like all of his work!? To be honest some of the art you see, made by well-known artists looks like something I could easily draw :P
My question is basically; do you think famous artists are "carried" a bit by their name - after making that one-hit-wonder awesome painting back in the days:D !?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

They were doing something different!. People get tired of the same old thing, and when something comes along that is different it stands out!. When the paintings have a concept that the common masses can relate to the combo is deadly and before you know the artist is famous!. Most famous artists lived hellish lives, tragedies have somehow boosted there emotions!. Perhaps the making the right connections at the right time!. Life has a million factors!. I have ask the same question to myself many times!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Indeed, it does look like that to me too!.

Picasso however was a very talented artist capable of capturing the exact likeness of an individual and detailing precisely what he was drawing!.

Art, is not about giving a photographic quality, although portraits were the only way to make such records before photography existed and any one capable of making a likeness was employed to do so!. It was the only way many artists could both work and eat!.

Many died impoverished and never got to enjoy the benefits of the cash paid for their work after their deaths!.

Picasso was fortunate to be recognised in his life time!. It is said he never needed to carry money!. He could go to any shop, bar or restaurant and just scribble on a piece of paper which the owner of the establishment could go on to sell for far more than his bill!.

The only way you can find out if your art work is worth any money is to try to sell it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

famous painters are famous because they are considered geniuses!. They are ahead of their time or the mainstream thought!. Picasso carried every movement to its apex, and a great painter!. Like most famous painters, they have conflicts in their lives such as depression, alcoholism, affairs and so forth but thats part of their personality that has carried them to stardom!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
