Question: Nikon D700 memory card help!?
I know it's only compatible with the compact flash I cards, but what's the difference with compact flash pro!? Is this still compatible!? I heard the highest is only 8gb for the d700, but I see 16gb for the compact flash pro!.

I'm looking at B&H right now!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

99% of cameras and tripods use the same thread

a "pro" card is the same as a card without the three letters on it, the only difference is the write speed, a 4gb pro card stores the same amount of info as a 4gb "pro" card, pro cards just write faster

sekonic and minolta meters are the ones i have used they are good

the 8gb or 16gb bit you lost me on sorry, i dont about that bitWww@QuestionHome@Com

You'll make out better if you ask each question individually rather than adding them onto your original question!. By adding them onto an old question, they are "lost in the shuffle," as this question is already deep down the list of asked questions!. By asking them individually, you will find someone who has a special interest in the topic!. For instance, maybe someone who knows nothing at all about memory cards is a tripod expert, because they use a tripod with their film camera!. Ditto for light meters!. Ask a couple of new questions and you will get more answers for the specific topics you want help with!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Good answers so far!. When it comes to the memory cards I am not sure about Nikon!. I use Canon!. Canon DSLR's will only accept cards up to 8gb!. A larger card will work most of the time but you will not gain any storage space!. It just gets reformatted to hold 8gb!. I wouldn't want anything bigger than that though!. Memory cards do fail!. You don't want to trust a memory card to hold to much of your work!. If it fails you will lose everything!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you definitely don't need a d700 based on your questions!.!.!.that is for sure!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Ellenas nailed it so thumbs up!. If you want to shoot in multiple frames per second then a fast write speed is important!. I use mostly sandisk extreme III or IV though I have some lexar!.

Get a good tripod you don't want several thousand dollars of camera depending on twenty dollars worth of aluminum and look at what the tripod will hold Manfrotto/Bogen, Giotto, Gitzo are all good brands!. If you look in the used sections at adorama and B&H you can sometimes find good prices on the aluminum where someone upgraded to carbon!. Yes the aluminum is a little heavier but still very servicable!.

Here is cambridge page on light meters I hope this helps you know your camera can meter matrix, center weighted or spot and does a good job

As to card size I have mostly 4 and 8 gb cards and price was the driving factor!. If at the time I could get 2 4 gig cards cheaper than an 8 that what I got!. If I could get an 8 cheaper I went that way!. You still will not be changing them nearly as often as you had to reload 35 mm film rollsWww@QuestionHome@Com
