Question: What do you think of my drawing!?!? (Experienced artists' advice needed)!?
I've been trying to perfect my drawings since I was little but I never thought I would become so passionate about art during my Junior and Senior years in High School ( I just graduated from High School) it was then when I realized I could be capable of much more!. Now, I will like to know what artists think, do I need more!?!? What else do I need to perfectionate!?!?

The image is a bit dark, so it's hard to tell how your shadows are!. And don't use lined paper! For the proportions, the bottom of the nose is a little crooked and the part of the upper lip that looks like a "U" is too wide!. Her left eye looks a little larger than her right, but it's hard to tell!. The hand definitely needs some work, especially near the knuckles!. You outlined a lot, especially the hand and arms, which makes shading hard to get to look right!. The hair is mostly very good, but you also outlined parts of it!. Hair should be whispy!. The shading on the hair is excellent, but needs work on the face and hand and arm!.

I know what you mean about wanting to perfect your work!. You, like me, are probably trying for photorealism!. It takes practice and good observation skills!. It also helps to have quality paper (try smooth bristol) and a full range of hardnesses for your pencils!. Don't try to do everything with one pencil - you need to choose the right one for the job, whether that be an eye, skin shading, or a lock of hair!. also investigate blenders (stumps, tortillons, chamois, tissues, etc!.) if you haven't already!. Your work is excellent, just take it to the next step!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You need to get a sketch book that does not have blue lines through it!!!!

Perfectionate is NOT a word, and perfectionism can be the artist's worst enemy!. I will suggest what so many others who draw and paint do on YA! !. !. !. draw from life!

Your question requested responses from experienced artists !. !. !. but you really have not asked any REAL questions! So I will take this request to mean critique of your drawing!. !. !. sorry if that is not what you wanted!.

It is a nice drawing, but we don't know if it is a self-portrait done in front of a mirror !. !. !. or drawn from a cosmetics ad in a magazine!. It makes a difference!. You have drawn the hair well, but did not give the same level of attention and skill to the eyes, nose and mouth!.

It would also be helpful to see other pieces you have done!. It is hard to tell very much from one drawing!. I imagine you have a lot more work in your portfolio if you have become more passionate over the last six years or so!.

So, yes, you need more!. More practice, more experience, more instruction!. All artists do!. Really great artists NEVER stop studying, practicing, learning and growing!Www@QuestionHome@Com

its pretty pro there!. I suspect that the scanner you used made it seem really dark on computer!. So it must be light with a lot of needed dimensions!. The face, arms and hands has great symmetry!. Try to use much dimensions by shading(using a fingertip and smearing the lead to get shade, light or dark) This drawing is overall good, so keep it up! You mainly got down what many people take years to improve!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

So here is what I think:
It's very ood, you had tons of potential and you put it to good use!. In fact you draw hair better than I do!. But the face, I think, should be a little more detailed in order to complete the mood of the drawing!. This is a website which helped me ALOT:

Just tackle your problems head on!. If you're not good at drawing hands, draw hands for about a week nonstop and you'll be good at it!.
Best of luck to you,Www@QuestionHome@Com

i can tell you spent a while on the hair
i think the one thing you desperately need is a good light source because right now it looks like your just shading for the sake of shading and creating a 3 dimensional quality, which is a good beginning but wit hstrong lights and darks this could be really interestingWww@QuestionHome@Com

Damn, that's actually pretty good!.
Maybe a bit more shading though(but I suck at drawing, so I can't give any advice on how to accomplish that - I'm only good at working with glass)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wow, not bad!. You did a pretty good job at shading!. I'd say the hand and wrist look a bit off, though!. Otherwise, kudos Dudette!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
