Today, one good option would be the Canon 1Ds Mark III, although thinking that 5D Mark II would have the pixels to do it also!.

Yeah, I know the Hassleblad digital users are gonna hammer me!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Large format View Camera!.

However, more and more the Hasselblad H3D is producing shots that might have been taken with a View Camera just few short years ago!. The huge native files of the H3D and the ability to fix perspective in post-processing is putting downward pressure on the use of View cameras in advertising!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

A minimum of 8MP for a 40 foot wide billboard!. I would recommend 10+MP to allow for formatting/cropping!. That is a range most DSLRs easily cover!. This resolution can be achieved with thousands of cameras of many formats!.
Billboards are low resolution images printed to be viewed from a suitable distance!. The last one I did was from a 10MP photo printed 40 feet wide at 6dpi!. Printing at 4dpi is not uncommon!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

any photographers camera would do its just the matter of producing a decent image resolution and printing it off a very large scale printer on vinylWww@QuestionHome@Com
